3 Best Air Purifiers for Pets in 2020

best air purifier for pets

Waking up at night with your eyes streaming and a scratchy chest is not something that any of us want to go through.

Sure we could remove our pet from the home but for many of us, our pets are like family members.

The truth is that in 2020, there is no reason we can’t use technology to allow us to enjoy our furry friends but not end up breathing in the dander, odors, and hair that these guys shed on a daily basis.

We based our selection of air purifiers for pets based on those that can deal with a large number of odors and dander that need to be removed from your home air.

As with other home gadgets that are aimed at pets (think Dyson Pet vacuum) – I would generally avoid the very cheapest purifiers on the market – they will just become clogged very quickly and are unlikely to provide the end goal of clean air in your home.

But if budget is a concern, don’t be put off as many of the cheaper options in this list are able to work in small rooms. So whilst you might not be able to clean the air in your entire home, you will still be able to keep your bedroom or home office safe from dander and other allergy-causing particles.

All air purifiers recommended have been thoroughly researched including using algorithms to identify review manipulation so you don’t end up with a machine that doesn’t live up to expectations – be sure to contact me if you have any issues with any of the air purifiers on the list.

  1. Best Choice overall – Austin Air Pet Machine B4101B1

Austin Air B410B1 Pet Machine Air Purifier, Black

We are a big fan of Austin who has been making air purifiers for the last 30 years and has been manufactured in the United States. This is especially important at this time with Covid-19 and the problems of the supply chain of getting air purifiers from China and Asia.

Austin Air purifiers have been used during American disasters including Hurrican Katrina and 9-11 and they work with a number of American hospitals.

This pet machine uses true HEPA filters (which are replaced every 5 years) and has 780 cubic inches of carbon and zeolite filter that will remove odors and gases (which is a major issue with Pets.)

The Pet Machine is great for keeping you safe and your pet safe (for those who own exotic animals)  as it removes many particles and allergens that are also dangerous to animals.

It covers 1500sq.ft but do take into account that every home layout is different so I generally recommend working under the maximum given by the manufacturers.

Plenty of users have found that the Austin Pet Machine has enabled them to live allergy free even with Cats that previously have been causing major issues and allowed them to keep their cats.

The downside is that it’s not the cheapest on the market but if you have a major issue with pets then this is the air purifier for the job.

Another issue to be aware of is that it does run fairly loud which might upset some dogs so be sure to get from Amazon so you can easily send it back if you have any issues.

Austin Air B410B1 Pet Machine Air Purifier, Black
  • Designed specifically for people with pets looking to remove unwanted odors, pet dander and animal allergens from the home
  • Also ideal for bird and exotic pet owners wanting to remove allergens and particles that can be harmful to their pets
  • True medical grade HEPA filter removes 99.97% of all particles larger than 0.3 microns; proprietary blend of over 780 cubic inches of impregnated carbon and zeolite filtration removes chemicals, gases and odors like ammoniums
  • 3 speed settings for fan; 360 degree intake system draws air into all sides of unit, passing air through a 4 stage filter
  • Reduces pet odors and allergens, night time allergies, asthma attacks, snoring, and helps you sleep better; eases coughing, wheezing, sneezing; reduces dry mouth, runny nose; strengthens the immune system

2. Budget choice – Winx 5300-2

Winix 5300-2 Air Purifier with True HEPA, PlasmaWave and Odor Reducing Carbon Filter,Gray

This air purifier is usually found for around $120-150 and is the best in class for this budget level.

As with the Austin air purifier, this comes with True-HEPA, a carbon filter and PlasmaWave technology (a fancy way to say it uses bipolar ionization which is very safe unlike many of the old units that created large amounts of ozone.)

As I mentioned in the intro, don’t expect this budget air purifier to clean your entire home but you can use it in rooms up to 400sq ft and there is no reason you can’t buy more to be used in rooms in future.

Many people have used the Winx 5300 for pet dander and pet odor and found that allergies symptoms were reduced significantly after using the device.

The downside of this air purifier is that it can only be used in one room so you will need to move it around the house if you want to clean new spaces.

The filter does need to be replaced every 12 months at a cost of $40 so that is a cost to keep in mind. There is also electrify cost to consider which amounts to $73 a year at level 4 24 hours per day.

But if you can’t quite push for the Austin Air Pet machine then the Winx 5300-2 is a perfect air purifier for remove pet dander and odors from a room.

Winix 5300-2 Air Purifier with True HEPA, PlasmaWave and Odor Reducing Carbon Filter,Gray
  • True-HEPA filter captures 99.97% of airborne pollutants; dust mites, pet dander, pollen and other allergens as small as 0.3 microns.

  • PlasmaWave acts as a permanent filter to safely break down odor, allergens, chemical vapors and other pollutants - with no harmful ozone
  • Delivered air flow :236 CFM, decibels : 27.8 . Smart Sensor gauges the air and our Auto Mode adjusts the fan to filter the air as needed; with a sleep mode for silent night-time operation

3. Money No Object – Molekule Air Purifier

Molekule Air Purifier with PECO Purification Technology, Silver

If $800+ doesn’t make you spit out your coffee then it might be worth checking out the Molekule air purifier.

It has the looks with a sleek silver design that will fit well into many homes and unlike the other options it’s smart so it comes with its own Android and Apple app.

It can handle decent size rooms with the ability to clean replace the air in a 600 sq.ft room every hour.

Unlike standard air purifiers that use HEPA and Carbon, this air purifier from Molekule uses it’s own patented PECO system. Whilst standard HEPA and Carbon are great for removing particles and odor from the air – PECO has the ability to kill and destroy viruses, bacteria, and VOCs using its patented oxidization process.

There are even studies that look at how this PECO technology works with people with Asthma symptoms – https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6028155/ (many suffered showed reduced symptoms after 4 weeks)

Many pet owners have found that the Molekule air purifier is great at removing pet dander and odors even with multiple animals.

The Molekule air purifier is certainly a great purifier for those with pets but it will be up to you decide if it’s worth the significant extra $$ compared to something like the Austin Air pet machine which achieves similar results for a lot less budget.

Molekule Air Purifier with PECO Purification Technology, Silver
  • Molekule Air uses Photo Electrochemical Oxidation (PECO) nanotechnology to destroy viruses, VOCs, allergens, bacteria & mold.
  • Designed for large rooms up to 600 sq. ft. Ideal for master bedrooms, living rooms & family rooms.
  • Smart & Connected – Molekule Air is easy to control using its touch-screen display. For added convenience, you can connect it to your WiFi and control it remotely using the iPhone or Android app.
  • Clean Design – Made from machined aluminum, Molekule Air is beautifully designed to fit seamlessly into your home.
  • Portable – With its natural leather handle, Molekule Air can be easily carried and placed anywhere in the home.

Why should be you be bothered about pet hair and dander?

In the US, nearly 20% of the population has an allergic reaction to cats and dogs and as pets get older the causes of these allergies – pet dander actually get worse as the animals shed more.

Most people know that you need to keep on top of cat and dog hair when you suffer allergies but many of the big allergy-causing particles are too small to be seen by the naked eye.

This is where air purifiers can help with the use of HEPA, Carbon and even PECO to remove these particles from the air so your body doesn’t have the allergic reaction. This is why air purifiers are also great for allergies as they can turn your home into a safe-haven from allergy-causing particles like tree pollen.

It’s the smell

If you have owned a very old dog you know that whilst they are still as lovable as ever – the smell can become overwhelming. Whilst there are many ways to reduce the smell a simple way is to use an air purifier that uses Carbon to remove odor-causing particles from the air – so if you trying everything to reduce the smell of old dog, then be sure to test out one of the air purifiers mentioned in this post.

Honeywell Air Purifier Review

After significant emails from our blog readers we have decided to put together a blog post that reviews the top Honeywell air purifiers on the market today!

1. Honeywell 17000

Honeywell 17000 Permanent Pure HEPA QuietCare Air Purifier removes up to 99.4% of bacteria and germs in the air. This power house unit designed with dual filters to remove smoke, pollen, dust, pet dander, dust mites, bacteria, and viruses plus eliminates household odors. Each filter has a button that blinks or shines steadily to show you when it’s time to remove the filter. This model covers medium to large rooms up to 168 square feet. While the unit is efficient in removing dust and odor from the room the unit can get loud on higher settings.

2. Honeywell HHT-145

If you like tower styled purifiers Honeywell HHT-145 HepaClean UV Antibacterial HEPA Tower 3-in-1 Air Purifier is one to consider. Unique ultraviolet technology reduces airborne germs, viruses, bacteria, fungi and mold spores. The HEPA true filter removes 99% of dust, pet dander, smoke, pollen and helps eliminate household odors. This powerful unit includes 12 cleaning power levels, up to an 18 hour auto shut off timer, ionizer and optional oscillation for better air circulation. Permanent filter with proper care never needs replacing. This unit covers large to medium size rooms up to 185 square feet. While this high tech model is successful in reducing pet odors and assisting with asthma the unit tends to have a cyclic humming sound and recurring problems with the filters.

3. Honeywell 50250

Honeywell 50250 99.97% Pure HEPA Round Air Purifier

For large rooms up to 390 square feet look at the Honeywell 50250 Round Air Purifier. True HEPA filter removes 99.97% pollen, dust, smoke, mold spores, pet dander and household odors. Includes a 360 degree air flow, pre-carbon filter, filter change indicator and comes in 3 speeds. Unit is easy to set up, change filters which are not expensive however the unit is bulky and creates a “white noise” sound when left on higher settings.

4. Honeywell 18155

Honeywell 18155 SilentComfort Permanent designed with two types of filtrations systems: carbon pre-filter to eliminate household odors and the true HEAP filter that removes dust, pollen, pet dander, smoke, germs, bacteria, mold spores and fungus. The model claims to purify 100% of germs and bacteria. The no-draft provides air cleaning without the cool air exhaust. This model is built for rooms up to 225 square feet. The air is fully processed every 12 minutes and the filter needs cleaning only twice a year. Works well for asthma, allergies and pet odors but unit is bulky and the higher speed settings have a “white noise.” Handbook does not correlate with design and is difficult to follow.

Therapure Air Purifier Costco

A photo of the Therapure offices in Ontario Canada.

Therapure air purifiers are descendants of Sharper Image ionic air purifiers that were super popular back in the day but they now part of the brand ENVION who are part of Boneco a swiss company that has been making purifiers since 1956.

The Therapure brand of purifiers resides at the lower end of the budget spectrum with most units costing less than $200 with most at around $129.

As with any air purifier review, we are interested in how each unit deals with smoke, dust, pet dander, and pollen. I am also interested in running costs, so how much electricity is used (as many air purifiers will be used 24 hours per day) and the costs of filters (no point buying a cheap unit and then having to spend many $$ on filter replacement.)

Let’s jump into the reviews and find out if therapure air purifiers are worth getting:

1.Envion Ionic Pro Turbo

Envion Ionic Pro Turbo, 500 Sq Feet, Black

This air purifier is meant for fairly sized rooms of up to 500 square feet and the price is usually around the $149 range.

From a technlogy point of view, it uses ionisation combined with a fan to add weight to air pollutants through the use of negative ions that then get captured by the steel blades.

It doesn’t use a HEPA filter so the benefit is that you won’t need to replace the filter like you would with a pure HEPA based unit.

You will also need to remember to clean the blades peridoically to keep the unit running at an efficient level.

The other benefit of ionization it is far less loud when in use when compared with a similar HEPA purifier which needs to force the air through the filter to achieve the same job.

Based on customer reviews, some people love the Ionization effect and describe the air as smelling a lot cleaner but their many customers who have issues with the ionization and said it actually had a negative effect on their allergies – so be sure give it a good test before deciding if you want to go for a unit like this. I love that Amazon.com is great with returns just be aware of third party sellers that may charge extra for returns.

Envion Ionic Pro Turbo, 500 Sq Feet, Black
  • SILENT OPERATION - Destroy airborne germs and odors without ambient noise
  • IONIC PURIFICATION - Sanitize & remove 99. 9% of airborne allergens, irritants, and pollutants in your home - plus destroy cold & flu viruses, mold spores, and staph and strep bacteria.
  • 3X CLEAN - Purifies the air in medium to large size rooms (up to 500 square feet) up to three times in one hour. Perfect for the home or office.
  • FOREVER FILTER - Easy to clean, washable filter will save you money and lasts for years.
  • ENERGY EFFICIENT - Sophisticated tower design uses less energy than a compact fluorescent bulb

2.Therapure TPP240

Envion by Boneco - Therapure TPP240 – Easy to Clean HEPA Type Air Purifier Tower - UV Germicidal Hemispheric Purification - Removes Odors, Smoke, Mold, Pet Dander & More - 343 Sq Ft Capacity

You can use this air purifier is smaller rooms – maximum of 343 Sq Ft with the price around the $130 mark but varies across the year.

Unlike the pro turbo this unit combines a HEPA with an ionizer and even uses a UV germicidal tech to kill germs and bacteria whilst the HEPA and ionization deals with the pollen and pet dander.

One thing to note is that this unit doesn’t use a true HEPA but is a HEPA type – a true HEPA filter needs to remove 99.97% of particles smaller than 0.3 microns. HEPA type works only on 99% particles above 2 microns. Whilst this difference seems tiny, it really matters when we are dealing with tiny particles that cause allergies like dander and pollen. For this reason, I would say that you should avoid the TPP240 if you want to see benefits for asthma and allergies.

Another thing we noticed is that many of the reviews on Amazon.com shows signs of review manipulation with a Fakespot grade of D, for this reason, we wouldn’t recommend this unit and would suggest you look elsewhere for budget air purifier such as the Levoit H13 that is regularly available for less than $100 and has a true HEPA combined with a carbon filter.

Envion by Boneco - Therapure TPP240 – Easy to Clean HEPA Type Air Purifier Tower - UV Germicidal Hemispheric Purification - Removes Odors, Smoke, Mold, Pet Dander & More - 343 Sq Ft Capacity
  • REMOVES mold, smoke, germs, bacteria, viruses, common allergens, pet dander, odor & chemical gases from the air in your home
  • CLEANS the air in medium to large size rooms (up to 343 square feet) up to 3 times in one hour
  • SANITIZES and PURIFIES the air through patented UV Germicidal technology; CADR: Pollen – 155, Dust – 132, Smoke – 137
  • IONIZES the air in your home to help trap airborne particles & more efficiently clean the air.
  • CLEANABLE FILTER eliminates needs for costly filter replacement.

3.Envion TPP100 compact 360 air purifier

Envion Therapure TPP100 Compact 360 HEPA Type Air Purifier, 2-Speed Grey, 25 Sq Ft Capacity | Removes Odors, Smoke, Mold, Pet Dander, Bacteria And More!

This tiny air purifier is built for very small areas and can be found online at different retailer around the $60 and sometimes comes up at Walmart for $25ish.

Unlike the other 2 therapure purifiers we reviewed here, this doesn’t use UV or Ions and uses the HEPA- style we mentioned previously.

Whilst this unit can be found super cheap, be aware that replacement filters can cost upwards of $32 with shipping.

Whilst this could certainly be an interesting gift for someone at the office, we can’t suggest that this unit is suitable for someone looking to deal with dust or pet allergies – you really just need to spend at least $100 for a unit that could deal with these issues for a fairly small room.

I would suggest taking a hard pass on this air purifier and spending an extra $40 to go for something like the Levoit H13 that we recommended earlier.

Envion Therapure TPP100 Compact 360 HEPA Type Air Purifier, 2-Speed Grey, 25 Sq Ft Capacity | Removes Odors, Smoke, Mold, Pet Dander, Bacteria And More!
  • REMOVES mold, smoke, germs, bacteria, viruses, common allergens, pet dander & odor from the air in your home; CADR Dust: 30 Pollen: 29 Smoke: 27
  • CLEANS the air in small size rooms (about 115 square feet) up to 3 times in one hour
  • COMPACT - Perfect for small spaces like bathrooms, pantries, offices, cubicles, etc.
  • 100% OZONE FREE. Does not use UV or Ions which produce trace amounts of ozone, a harmful air pollutant.
  • CLEANABLE filter eliminates needs for costly filter replacement.

So should you buy a Therapure air purifier?

It probably won’t come as a surprise in that I don’t recommend you buy any of these air purifiers.

Whilst they are super popular due to the fact that they are stocked in big box stores like Costco, Walmart, Sears…etc they just don’t provide enough value in 2020.

Ionization is a technology I would generally avoid even if it’s not as bad as the old ozone generators of the past – some people find that even small amounts of ozone can make their allergies worse.

The lack of true-HEPA is also a major concern as it feels like customers are duped into thinking its similar to the filters used on American made Austin purifiers – when there is a massive difference between the number of particles that are blocked.

The challenge is that if you want a unit that can deal with a large square foot area as these units you will need to spend at least $100 more – but I think it’s well worth the extra investment.

Honeywell Air Purifier Review

A lot of people are on the prowl for a good quality air purifier. They may already have one, but they need cleaner air, less noise, and a comfort zone.

Honeywell Air Purifier Review

How about a Honeywell air purifier? These purifiers are top of the line in creating a healthy environment for your home and family. Many people living with allergies choose Honeywell.

Allergies and asthma can make life that much harder and breathing dirty air can send allergies and asthma into a frenzy. Having severe allergies and asthma is simply the worst. This air purifier can change all of that for you. If purifies air instantly and leaves air crisp and clean for you and your family to breathe.

Even if you don’t live in a house, say an apartment, this purifier still works great and effectively. It cuts out all the smoke that is just about everywhere you turn. Unless you’re a smoker yourself, you don’t want the smell of smoke filling your apartment. Even if you are a smoker, you still may not want the smell of smoke throughout your home. With this particular brand of air purifiers, the smell won’t be noticed or recognized at all.

Another thing about Honeywell air purifiers that people love and appreciate is there size and the ability to be moved from room to room without a hassle.

Just as there is a good side to everything, there is also a bad side. Many owners of this kind of purifier say that it makes a little noise when it is turned on. The noise does stop after a little while, but it’s rather annoying. Although these purifiers are rather big because of the five air circulators and still portable, many people don’t like how much space it takes up.

There are a lot of ways that air purifiers are able to cleanse the air. Some machines purify air by cleaning particles with a charge that attracts the particles to a filter of the opposite charge. This is called ionization. Other purifiers use an ultraviolet light that sterilizes the air as it passes through the machine. Needless to say, the Honeywell purifiers use a HEPA filter. This is thought to be one of the most effective ways to cleanse air. This is because the HEPA filters are awesome when it comes to removing pollen, bacteria, viruses, dust and dust mites, and pet dander. They are also great for removing other harmful things that are in the air that could harm us if we were to breathe it in.

Hunter Air Purifier

Want a purifier that goes above and beyond?  Then you need a Hunter air purifier.  These purifiers are packed with power.  They aren’t too expensive and with the economy in the current shape that it’s now, no one has money to waste.

Hunter Air Purifier

Hunter air purifiers have two filters.  One filter is a washable filter and the other one is an activated carbon filter.  The washable filter collects large dust particles, lint, and hair.  The carbon filters out the odors that come from smoking, cooking, and pets.  You should change the filters about every 3 months.  These filters collect 99.97% of particles that passes through the filters.

This air purifier is rather quiet, but there is some noise.  Considering all that these air purifiers do, a little noise is to be expected.  It may be a bit loud for use in a bedroom or quiet setting, so you may get better satisfaction out of the purifier by putting it in a room where company gathers or in a room where the purifier won’t be heard very well.

An air purifier is a machine that is able to remove impurities and contaminants from the air.  These purifiers are also good for your health.  They are great for people with severe allergies and asthma.  These hunter air purifiers have proven to reduce and even eliminate second-hand smoke from tobacco.

Air purifiers are rated on a number of things.  Every factor has a value of 10 points.  The highest score possible is a 100.  It is possible to achieve the perfect score of a 100, but it is highly unlikely.  If you are seeking health benefits with an air purifier, gas and odor elimination will be a must.

The way purifiers are made and designed play a major part in how long each filter has the potential to last.  These purifiers are also rated on machine life, maintenance requirements, as well as operating costs.  Warranty period and service life is looked at as well.  The last few factors that are considered when it comes to air purifiers are its style, portability, comfort level, and convenience.

These purifiers are still fairly new to the industrial world.  John and James Hunter founded the company in 1886.  It all began with a ceiling fan.  They didn’t begin to build air purifiers until 1990.  There is currently an air purifier that is a home edition.  This home edition line of air purifiers has been around since 2004.

Score: 87/100

Holmes Air Purifier Reviews

An air purifier is used in today’s society for a number of reasons.  A person in the home may have allergies or asthma and the purifier makes it easier to breathe.  Air purifiers are used to “grasp” contaminants out of the air and cleanse it.  Air purifiers get rid of a lot of debris that’s whirling around in the air in your home.

Holmes Air Purifier Reviews

When you are shopping for an air purifier, there are a few things that you should know.  A lot of people use air purifiers in their bedrooms, so considering the noise level would be a good idea.  The number of times that the filter needs to be replaced is something to think about as well.  Filters may not be that expensive, but when you have to replace it 4 and 5 times in one month, the prices add up and it could become a big problem as well as a hassle.

Another thing to consider is the design.  What’s its visual appeal?  The design makes all the difference in the world.  The design effects how well the filters work and how easy they are to get to and replace.  Air quantity is another factor.  How much air is treated per unit in a certain amount of time is the question you should ask.  Also check out the warranty on the purifier, how easy it is to use and how much it will cost to operate it.

If you are a little pressed for money, a Holmes air purifier may be exactly what you’re looking for.  These purifiers start at $50.  The most money you will pay for a Holmes air purifier is $130.  It may be a good idea to buy one purifier for each room.  It may sound crazy, but if you think about it, you will be able to cleanse and purify more space.  You should avoid having pockets in your home at all times.  Pockets are the places where the purifier can’t get to and as a result, the air isn’t cleansed.

The overall rating and reviews for this purifier are good.  It is very effective for a fraction of what other purifiers cost.  It is relatively quiet and easy to manage.

We need air to breathe and survive.  Without air, where would we be?  What would we do?  Why not breathe clean, fresh, pure air.  You really won’t be able to tell what a difference these purifiers make until you actually have one.

Therapure 201M Review: what’s good and what’s not

For many people, there is nothing more important than to ensure that they are
breathing in a right environment. These are the people who don’t mind spending top
dollar to get a sophisticated air purifier. Well, if you are also quite worried about the
indoor air quality of your home or office, you can consider buying Therapure 201M air

When you dig deeper into the details and read the Therapure 201M reviews, it becomes
evident that it is popular for many good reasons. The first impressive thing about
this particular air filter is its amazing power. Precisely, it can generate a power of
120-145 cubic ft/min. However, it is important to mention that it doesn’t come with
AHAM- CADR, which stands for Certified Clean Air Delivery Rate. This is quite
discouraging, but there are some other features that are sure to impress you a lot.
Its sleek design will impressive you for sure. It is due to its compact size that you put
it anywhere in your home. It doesn’t take a lot of your precious real estate, which
is one great feature in its own specific way. What’s more, it comes with permanent
HEPA-type filter, which works extremely well to remove dust, smoke, and pollen from
air. Here, it is important to mention that there is some difference between a True
HEPA and a HEPA-type filter, and you should be willing to learn more about it before
you go on to make a purchase.

In this Therapure 201M review, it is quite essential to point out that it comes with a HEPA-
type filter, which is not as effective as a true HEPA filter – a true HEPA filter
can capture .3 micron particulate. Still, you will find 201M coming with great cleaning
power, and as it comes with UV lamp, it is capable of killing most harmful airborne
bacteria, germs, and viruses. What’s more, it also has photo catalyst filter that can
remove carpet fumes, toxic paints, and other household chemicals. When all this is at
work, you are sure to breathe in clean and clear air.

The fact of the matter is that though Therapure 201M is not “tremendous” as
compared to some of the modern more expensive purifiers, it is still capable of providing
you with clean air. Therefore, without a doubt, it is worth your investment!

4 Ways to buy economically priced air purifiers

An air purifier can be very useful to eliminate air impurities. These are widely used and have gained a lot of credit over the past few years due to the rising pollution levels.

economically priced air purifiers

There are various types of air purifiers in the market. While some can be used only to cleanse a small area, the others are used for entire apartments or homes. Since the demand for air purifiers has significantly increased, there are a number of places from which you can buy air purifiers.

Many of these fit into your budget and come at highly discounted prices. In order to increase the market share most manufacturers and retailers put them on sale or put them at a heavily discounted cost.

1. Best Buy Stores

The buyer stands to benefit as there is a wide discounted variety of air purifiers at Best Buy stores. These offer huge discounts not only on air purifiers but also on household products. So, the buyer can pick the one that fits in the budget.

2. Go Online Shopping

When you get online you can actually browse a world full of discounted air purifiers. Online shopping is extremely competitive and the rates are cut throat. Practically, almost every online store offers a three to five percent discount. The amazing varieties of air purifiers range from the ozone to ionic and UV light modules. And there is also the Hepa Filter air purifier.

3. Look for Discounts

The primary factor for such significant discounts is various. Most of these air purifiers are on such high discounts because of the market. Since, many players are there in the market there is no monopoly by one major player. This results in highly competitive prices where players give huge discounts to get a larger market share. At the same time retailers also increase the discounts because air purifiers have a short shelf life and fall under the fast moving product category. Since it is a mechanism that tends to lose its efficiency if kept in stock for long, retailers try to make sure that fresh stock is always sent out. Due to these above mentioned factors huge discounts are available online for various kinds of air purifiers.

4. Choose a resale unit

Finally, if the air purifier is sold as a resale unit then also a discount is applicable.

Holmes HAP625 Air Purifier

The Holmes HAP625 Air Purifier is a portable air purifier that lets you clean the air in the room quietly and efficiently. It provides genuine High Energy Particulate Air (HEPA) filtration, which is a very desirable feature in an air purifier. The many great features of the Holmes HAP625 make this an air purifier that is worth your considerations. But first, a few basic pros and cons of this model.

Holmes HAP625 Air Purifier

Among the "pros" of the Holmes HAP625 are that the machine is small and can be positioned either upright or on its side so it can be made to fit a variety of spaces, and can even go on a shelf. The HEPA filter is well sealed with a gasket so that no unclean air taken up by the machine is able to bypass the filter. Additionally, the Holmes HAP625 is very quiet, producing under 50 decibels on its top speed setting.

The main "con" of the Holmes HAP625 is that it is small, and can only purify the air in rooms that are around 200 square feet in area or smaller. Also, carbon filters will have to be replaced every few months to get the best smoke, gas, and chemical odor removal.

The HEPA filter in the Holmes HAP625 air purifier is some of the best HEPA technology use available. Because it is a true HEPA filter, it has to remove at least 99.97% of particles from the air that are 0.3 microns in size or larger. Therefore, almost all the airborne particles that can aggravate allergies and asthma are removed from the air by a HEPA filter. And the gasket around the HEPA filter ensures that of all the air that is taken into the air purifier, it cannot bypass the filter, but must instead pass through the filter and be cleaned.
The activated carbon pre-filter in the Holmes HAP625 is another great feature. It performs two basic functions: it helps capture large particles in the air, removing them from the path of the main HEPA filter, and it also traps harmful gases and odors due to the shape and arrangement of the carbon molecules. Activated carbon is capable of breaking down some 4,000 chemicals and odors, removing them from the environment. They work better than any air freshener could at eliminating odors.

The Holmes HAP625 is designed to work in small rooms – up to around 200 square feet in area. In a room this size, it will change the air six times in one hour, which is considered the optimal rate of air movement through an air purifier. While it will purify the air in larger rooms, it will not be able to change the air as many times in one hour, so it will not be optimal filtration. For example, a room with 525 square feet in area will only get 2 complete air changes in one hour, which is helpful, but not ideal.

For optimal performance, the filters in the Holmes HAP625 will need to be changed regularly so that they don’t clog. This includes both the HEPA filter and the carbon pre-filter. If the filters are allowed to become too clogged, there is the possibility that the motor will burn out. The HEPA filter will have to be replaced every one to two years, at a cost of around $30 per filter.. The frequency with which you’ll need to change the carbon filter is usually around 3 to 4 months, but if there is smoking in the area, these filters will clog faster and have to be replaced more frequently. The carbon filters come in packages of 4 that cost around $16.95.

The Holmes HAP625 runs very quietly because the HEPA filter has been treated so that it captures the maximum number of particles while still allowing good air flow. On its loudest setting, it only produces 50 decibels, while running the purifier on "silent" mode takes the noise down to 30 decibels, which is very quiet, particularly for an air purifier.

The Holmes HAP625 retails for around $50. This is a great price for a HEPA air purifier. It also comes with a 5-year warranty, which is longer than many air purifier warranties. In addition to the filtration technologies, it also has some great extras. A lighted color display tells you when the filters need to be replaced, and the space saving design lets you place the machine right next to a wall and have it still run efficiently. This is a great, inexpensive air purifier that can give you years of faithful service. The level of purification it provides is high, while filter replacement costs are more reasonable than for most air purifiers.

Surround Air Purifier

Surround Air is a leading manufacturer of air purifiers and air cleaners for both residential and commercial use. The brand uses proven technological features such as HEPA filters, activated carbon, and ultraviolet (UV) light.

Surround Air Purifier

As just one example, the Surround Air Multi-Tech Air Purifier removes a number of pollutants, including dust and dust mites that are captured by the HEPA filter. The ionizer in the air purifier increases the efficiency of the filters. It does this because it causes airborne particles to "clump" together, which makes them easier to catch. Additionally, according to the US Department of Agriculture, negative ions cause particles in the air to "drop out" from the air, and are very good at keeping dust out of the air that you breathe.

Ultraviolet light not only kills dust mites, but if it radiates in the proper wavelengths, it can kill airborne pathogens like viruses and bacteria. A high quality UV lamp is a great feature to have on an air purifier, particularly in settings where a person’s immune system is compromised, or where someone is caring for a sick person and wants to minimize the chances of catching the viral or bacterial illness.

Surround Air HEPA air filters are great at capturing mold spores and microscopic fungi from the air. The ionizers help in this process, and the UV lamps will kill toxins associated with mold. Surround Air ozone sanitizers are very effective against smells such as the smell of mildew, and the ozone sanitizers can be switched off and on separately from the rest of the machine if desired.

The Surround Air Multi-Tech carbon filter absorbs cigarette smoke particles and other toxins contained in cigarette smoke. With the help of the ozone sanitizer, the carbon filter helps eliminate the odors from cigarette smoke. Additionally, the ionizer helps remove smoke particles from the air, making it much cleaner.

Another great feature of the Surround Air purifiers is that they can significantly decrease the amount of carbon monoxide in the air. Carbon monoxide is odorless, but can be very dangerous. The study on ozone removal was done in a London hospital and was published in a scientific journal, the European Respiratory Journal.

When it comes to removing bacteria from the air, Surround Air uses several approaches at once. The HEPA filter, the carbon pre-filter, and the UV lamp all attack bacteria. Additionally, a study by the US Department of Agriculture showed that ionizers are very effective at removing bacteria from the air.

Pollen and other airborne allergens are all but eliminated by HEPA filters, which are considered by most sources to be the most effective filters for allergens. The ionizers on Surround Air purifiers help increase the efficiency of the filters by causing particles to clump together. This makes them easier to trap and remove from the air. The ionizer also causes airborne particles to precipitate out of indoor air it captures.

With chemicals and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), the Surround Air purifiers’ carbon filters are extremely effective absorbers. This means that chemical and gas smells are effectively removed, and the ionizers help to neutralize chemical smells even more. Germs and virus are effectively removed and killed by the Surround Air UV lamps, which radiate in wavelengths that are fatal to airborne bacteria and viruses.

In summary, Surround Air brand purifiers use numerous approaches to cleaning the air, all of which work together to achieve superior results at reducing indoor air pollution.
