Hunter Air Purifier Filters
Hunter makes several models of air purifiers to address different needs for power and filtration. Allergy sufferers can benefit from air purifiers such as the ones Hunter makes. Some Hunter models use High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters, which can filter out particles as small as 0.3 microns in diameter. HEPA filters are certified to trap 99.7% of the particles that go through the filter. Choosing an air purifier is largely a matter of knowing how large the room is you want to use it in. Other than that, choices can be made on mechanical versus digital controls, aesthetics, and price.
Not all Hunter air purifiers require a pre-filter, but for those that do, Hunter makes the Advanced Activated Carbon Pre-Filter 30901. It is designed to cut down on tobacco, cooking, and pet smells and to prolong the life of the air purifier’s main filter by catching the larger objects like lint and pet hair before they reach the main filter. The pre-filter retails for $27.95 and lasts for three months under constant use. Of course, if the air purifier isn’t used constantly, the pre-filter will probably last longer.
Hunter also makes a series of HEPA filters called the QuietFlo True HEPA Filter series. They trap 99.97% of particles that encounter the filter, and trap particles as small as 0.3 microns. The life of a QuietFlo True HEPA filter depends on the environment in which it is used, but this type of filter can last up to one year and retail in the $40 to $70 range depending on the specific model air purifier it is intended for.
The other series of air purifier filters made by Hunter is the HEPAtech filters. These are electrostatic filters that are permanently charged so as to capture 99.97% of particles (down to 0.3 micron size) that encounter the filter. HEPAtech filters last up to six months under constant use and they retail for around $25 to around $55, depending on which model of air purifier they are made for.
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, air pollution inside homes can actually be two to five times worse than outside! People with allergies know first hand how indoor air pollution from dust and pet dander can aggravate their allergies. Use of Hunter air purifiers and regular replacement of Hunter air purifier pre-filters, HEPA filters, and HEPAtech filters can improve indoor air quality by getting dust, pollen, smoke, pet dander, and mold spores out of the air so that breathing is more comfortable.
